Chief Administrative Officer – Cook’s Ferry Indian Band

WMC is excited to partner with the Cook’s Ferry Indian Band to search for an engaging and strategic leader to serve as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

The Cook’s Ferry Indian Band, a Nlaka’pamux government in BC’s Central Interior, oversees 26 reserves, primarily in the Thompson and Nicola Valleys. Rooted in the rich traditions of the Interior Salish Nation, the community cherishes its ancestral lands, prioritizing cultural preservation through empowerment and economic prosperity for future generations.

Reporting to and partnering with the Chief and Council, the CAO ensures the strategic vision and policies established by the Chief and Council are implemented, providing professional guidance and support to achieve the community’s goals. The CAO is responsible for steering the efficient and effective administration of all community operations. This includes operational management, fiscal administration, and program implementation.

This role requires a commitment to transparency, collaboration, and respect for the Community’s traditions, values, and governance practices, all while enhancing the well-being of band members.

Based at the Cook’s Ferry Indian Band office at Spences Bridge, with regular visits to the office in Merritt, the CAO will embody the values of the Community in overseeing the strategic direction and operational excellence of the band administration.
