WMC is excited to partner with Xwísten (Bridge River Indian Band) in the search for a strategic and dynamic leader to join their administration as the Director of Lands and Resources. Based in Lillooet, BC, this role is central to the ongoing stewardship of Xwísten’s unceded territory, which the community has inhabited since time immemorial.
The Director will play a crucial role in safeguarding environmental habitats, promoting sustainable land and resource use, and ensuring food security for the community. Reporting directly to the Administrator, this position will involve close collaboration with community leaders, government bodies, private companies, and the broader community to manage referrals and to develop and implement responsible land use strategies that align with Xwísten’s cultural values and long-term goals.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a diverse team of functional managers, skilled technicians, and specialists, all dedicated to preserving Xwísten’s rich cultural heritage while driving initiatives that support a sustainable and prosperous future for the community for generations to come. If you are a strategic leader with a passion for environmental stewardship and a deep respect for Indigenous cultures, this could be the perfect role for you.
