Today, WMC includes over 40 executive search and management consultants in our offices in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Toronto. Our model is based on a team of very experienced consultants who do the work, from requirements definition to client communication to delivering outstanding results. WMC’s National Executive Search Practice is growing. We are looking to add Executive Search Consultants who may work from our Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto or Vancouver offices.  Additionally, there is the opportunity to work remotely from other Canadian provinces. We are looking for talented professionals who share our values of collaboration, innovation and delivering outstanding results to clients.
 
As a member of our search practice, you will develop a client base, structure compelling proposals and complete executive search engagements in a highly professional, ethical and client-focused manner. In addition, you will build and leverage relationships with other WMC consultants to deliver exceptional results to clients, including for psychometric assessments, coaching services and broader management consulting. As a member of WMC, you will collaborate, share ideas and contribute to the success of our firm.
 
The opportunity will appeal to professionals who are entrepreneurial, collaborative, and who are excited to grow their business while being part of a national firm. Our business model allows practitioners to direct and manage their practice, boosted by an established brand, shared business services with the support from other senior consultants and the broader team.
 
Candidates will bring a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in search, working in senior leadership roles or consulting. A university degree (post-graduate preferred) is expected. The ability to build relationships, initiate, refer and develop new business is a must. Candidates will understand and accepts both the risks and the rewards that come with running their consulting practice. Flexibility and versatility in working with both the public and private sectors are highly desirable.

Knowledge and Experience

We seek seasoned professionals with over 10 years of progressive experience in private, government, not-for-profit, or consulting organizations. These professionals will have proven hands-on leadership and or senior professional experience in helping design and facilitate implementation of complex, cross enterprise strategy or multidimensional projects where improved enterprise and functional performance has been the result.

We are looking for experience with innovation, change management, culture and engagement, project management and process improvement at multiple organizational levels. Demonstrated research and content development and strong presentation and communication skills in a wide variety of internal and external settings is required. Successful candidates should demonstrate experience in building rapport and strong advisory relationships with diverse stakeholders and demonstrate proficiency in preferably more than one of WMC’s service areas.

Qualifications & Certifications

Candidates should hold post-secondary education in business, public administration, or a related area. Extensive knowledge and awareness of current social, economic, and political priorities would be an asset. Proficiency or certification in strategic planning, change management, project management, and leadership would be advantageous. Experience with the Microsoft Office suite and social media is expected.

Income and Benefits

WMC consultants develop and run their consulting business within the WMC brand and therefore earn income commensurate with their consulting business performance/revenue levels. Consultants can also capitalize on the expertise of colleagues within WMC to deliver their assignments (who can be members of assignments) and may in turn have the opportunity to earn revenue by work on business / projects developed by colleagues. The potential exists for ownership opportunity and leadership of the firm, based on contribution.

Consultants benefit from with knowledge, processes, tools and support within WMC and working with flexibility to work on areas of interest and set their own objectives, on a hybrid basis from home or at client sites.
